OFT Converter For Outlook Templates
PCDOTS OFT Converter Software reads Outlook File Template (.oft) files on Windows and exports them to MSG, PDF, EML, PST, MBOX and 11 more destinations. Works without Classic Outlook installed, opens templates that New Outlook for Windows cannot natively save, and runs unchanged across Outlook 2007 through Microsoft 365-era OFT files.
What OFT Files Actually Are and Why Generic Tools Choke
An OFT file is technically an MSG file with a different storage class: same Compound File Binary container, same property streams, but with CLSID_TemplateMessage ({0006F046-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}) instead of CLSID_MailMessage. That distinction is why generic email parsers misidentify OFT as MSG, why double-clicking a .oft launches a draft instead of a template, and why New Outlook for Windows recognizes the file but cannot save changes back to it.
Distinguishes OFT From MSG at Parse Time
The reader inspects the Compound File Binary header and reads WriteClassStg. Files with CLSID_TemplateMessage route through the OFT path; files with CLSID_MailMessage route through the MSG path. Generic parsers that ignore CLSID misidentify OFT and produce malformed output when treating templates as messages.
Reads CLSID_TemplateMessage signature directly from CFB header
Routes OFT and MSG files through separate path-specific handlers
Returns clear errors on corrupted OFT files instead of silent malformed output
No Classic Outlook Required at Runtime
The wizard implements OFT format directly through a Windows .NET parser. Excluded from the dependency graph: Classic Outlook install, OUTLOOK.EXE binary, Office MAPI subsystem, registered Outlook template handler. Reads templates from network shares, USB drives, archived ZIPs, or any path the Windows user can reach.
Direct CFB parser, no MAPI dependency, no OUTLOOK.EXE invocation
Reads templates copied from machines without Outlook installed
Scans archive ZIP, network share or USB-stored OFT folders unchanged
Carries Through Template-Specific Content Intact
OFT files hold more than message body: subject, recipient placeholders, inline images, embedded attachments, custom fields, signature blocks, HTML/RTF/Plain body type. The wizard retains all of these through conversion. Where the destination format cannot store a property (PDF + recipient placeholders), it writes to a sidecar metadata file.
Subject, body, inline images and embedded attachments retained
Custom Outlook fields and recipient placeholders carried to side metadata
HTML, RTF or Plain Text body type detected and routed correctly
Batch Convert Marketing Template Libraries
Marketing teams accumulate dozens of templates: weekly newsletter, product launch, webinar invite, customer onboarding, internal memo. The wizard processes a folder of templates in one job and outputs each as MSG, EML, PDF or HTML, with sequential naming derived from the template subject line.
Reads OFT From Outlook 2007 Through Microsoft 365
OFT format is technically stable across Outlook releases (CFB structure unchanged), but each Outlook generation added small extensions: rich body MIME hints, custom field schemas, theme references. The wizard handles all of these. Source files from Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365 read identically.
Search Across an OFT Template Library
For organizations with hundreds of accumulated templates, search runs against parsed content directly. Filter by subject text, body keyword, attachment filename, custom field value, creation date. The result set exports as a subset, useful when archiving only the templates a campaign actually used.
Extract Specific Template Components Separately
Selective extraction outputs email addresses from recipient placeholders as CSV, attachments as files retained with original filename and MIME type, inline images as separate image files with HTML reference rewrites. Useful when migrating template assets into a different system that expects component files rather than packaged OFT.
Send OFT Templates Through to Live Inbox
For one-off send-from-template workflows, the wizard authenticates to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud via OAuth and posts the OFT body and attachments as a draft or sent message. Useful when New Outlook users need to send a Classic Outlook OFT without re-creating it as a My Templates entry.
Single .NET Binary, No Office Dependency
Runtime requirement is a Windows machine with .NET Framework 4.5 or later. Excluded dependencies: Microsoft Office, Outlook (Classic or New), MAPI subsystem, Visual Studio Tools for Office, registered template handlers. The single-file installer lays down one folder under Program Files and registers nothing globally except the file association.

Simple 3-Step Process
OFT Conversion in Three Stages
OFT processing fits a clean three-stage pattern: load templates from any folder, scope and inspect via the rendered+property+raw views, output to a destination format. The eleven-step reference walkthrough later on this page covers OFT-specific configuration including custom field mapping, inline image handling, and CSV-driven OAuth credentials for live-send workflows.
01
1. Load Your OFT Templates
Browse to a folder of templates (single file or batch library). The wizard inspects each file by Compound File Binary signature, confirms the CLSID_TemplateMessage storage class, and lists every valid template in the navigation pane.
02
2. Inspect Templates and Configure Output
Click any template to render it in the verification pane. Apply scope: pick specific templates, filter by subject keyword, exclude items by date. Configure output: target format, naming convention, attachment handling, custom-field sidecar generation.
03
3. Write Templates to Destination Format
Three categories. Email file formats: MSG, EML, PST (one PST per batch), MBOX, OFT (round-trip rewrite). Document formats: PDF, PDF/A, HTML, CSV, TXT, RTF. Live cloud and IMAP: send-from-template to Microsoft 365, Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud or any RFC 3501 host.

Source OFT Coverage and Output Destination Spectrum
Source coverage: OFT files from Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365. Destination coverage: 16 outputs spanning email file formats (MSG, EML, PST, MBOX, OFT round-trip), document formats (PDF, PDF/A, HTML, CSV, TXT, RTF), and live cloud or IMAP destinations (Microsoft 365, Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud, generic RFC 3501).
Source and Output Formats
Specialized and Tested Across Every Outlook Template Generation
The wizard reads Outlook File Templates from disk, archives, network shares and email attachment downloads. Whether the files sit in a project folder, a SharePoint sync directory or a ZIP copied off a retired workstation, they load natively without Outlook installed.

Beyond Conversion: Read, Search and Edit OFT Templates
OFT conversion is rarely the only thing needed. Marketing teams want to read archived templates without firing up Outlook. Compliance teams want to search across template libraries for outdated copy or non-compliant disclaimer text. Branding teams want to extract the inline images from a campaign template to pass to a redesign workflow. The wizard ships all three operations against the same loaded OFT.
The same software that runs the OFT conversion also reads the data underneath. Open any OFT file and inspect every template in rendered mode, property-stream view, or raw CFB byte mode. Spot encoding inconsistencies, verify CLSID storage class, confirm template-only properties before any export. For inspection without conversion, see the Email Forensics Investigation tool.
Advanced search returns matches across thousands of templates in a fraction of a second. Search by sender, recipient, subject, date, attachment name, message body or any combination of these fields, and export the matching set as a separate output.

Why Users Switch to PCDOTS
Five Things That Go Wrong With OFT and How the Wizard Fixes Each
OFT problems cluster into five recurring patterns. Each maps to a specific wizard configuration. If a current OFT job matches one of the descriptions below, the corresponding resolution covers it.
Problems You're Facing
Problem: New Outlook for Windows will not save .oft templatesNew Outlook can open an existing OFT as a one-time draft when double-clicked, but offers no menu option, no ribbon command, and no Save As path that produces an .oft file. Users transitioning from Classic Outlook lose the round-trip workflow that let them open, edit, and resave a template in one motion.
Problem: Outlook for Mac does not recognize OFT files at allOutlook for Mac uses a different template format (.emltpl) and does not parse Windows .oft files. Mac users who receive OFT attachments from Windows colleagues see a file the OS cannot preview, cannot open in Outlook for Mac, and cannot edit without converting it on a Windows machine first.
Problem: Generic MSG converters drop OFT-specific propertiesTools that advertise OFT support but treat .oft as a renamed .msg ignore the WriteClassStg distinction. They lose recipient placeholders, custom fields, and the body type hint (HTML vs RTF vs Plain). The output looks superficially correct but template-essential properties are silently absent.
Problem: Outlook printing OFT to PDF is one-file-at-a-timeThe standard manual workaround is opening each OFT in Outlook, then File > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF. For a marketing team archiving a hundred-template library, this is hours of click-by-click work. There is no built-in batch mode in Outlook for OFT-to-PDF.
Problem: Renaming .oft to .msg corrupts custom Outlook fieldsA common forum-suggested workaround for opening OFT outside Outlook is renaming the extension to .msg and using a free MSG viewer. The viewer reads the body but mishandles the CLSID mismatch, causing custom field values to display wrong, dates to appear inverted, and recipient placeholder text to render as literal strings.
How PCDOTS Fixes It
Resolution: standalone Windows-side OFT parser, no Outlook requiredThe PCDOTS reader implements OFT format directly via a Windows .NET parser. No Classic Outlook install, no New Outlook install, no Office runtime, no MAPI subsystem. Reads OFT files from any folder the Windows user can access, including network shares, USB drives, and email attachment downloads.
Resolution: CLSID-aware path that retains template-only propertiesThe wizard inspects WriteClassStg before parse, routes CLSID_TemplateMessage files through OFT-specific handlers, and retains recipient placeholders, custom Outlook fields, body type hints, and signature block separately from message body. Properties not supported by the destination format write to a sidecar metadata file.
Resolution: a conversion path that restores the New Outlook workflowConvert the .oft to MSG or EML on the Windows side and import the result into Outlook on the web My Templates or any modern client. The OFT round-trip writer also rewrites an edited template back to .oft, so libraries stay usable even where Classic Outlook is gone.
Resolution: bulk batch conversion across an entire OFT libraryPoint the wizard at a folder of templates and pick a destination format. Every file processes in one job, applies the configured naming convention, extracts inline images and attachments to a per-template subfolder, and writes a job log with per-template success/failure status. Hour-long manual workflows reduce to a single click.
Resolution: Mac users get readable artifacts via Windows-side conversionMac users without a Windows machine of their own can have a colleague run the OFT through the wizard once, producing PDF (locked layout for review) or HTML (editable in any tool) that the Mac user can open natively. For shops with frequent OFT-to-Mac handoffs, a shared Windows VM or Boot Camp partition handles the conversion step.
Real-World Applications
Six Real Workflows OFT Converter Plugs Into
Below: the six recurring scenarios where teams reach for an OFT converter. Each scenario maps to a wizard configuration with specific output format, scope filters, and post-conversion handling. Marketing teams dominate the user base, but compliance, IT and legal teams hit the same converter for distinct reasons.
Marketing Template Library Archive
Marketing teams accumulate hundreds of templates across campaign cycles. Archive as PDFs (locked layout) or HTML (editable in any tool) so the library is accessible to designers, agencies and legal review without per-machine Outlook installs. Batch runs on the whole folder in one job.

New Outlook Compatibility Workaround
Organizations deploying New Outlook for Windows hit a wall: their .oft libraries no longer round-trip. New Outlook opens OFT as a one-time draft but cannot save edits back. Convert each template to MSG or EML, importable into Outlook on the web My Templates or any modern client.
OFT to MSGMy Templates import
Compliance Audit Across Template Libraries
Compliance teams audit accumulated templates for outdated disclaimer text, deprecated privacy URLs, references to retired products, or branding that no longer matches current style. Search across the loaded library finds offending strings; the matched subset exports for review. Replaces sequential one-by-one Outlook inspection.
Library searchDisclaimer audit
OFT to PST for Outlook Profile Migration
IT teams consolidating users to a new workstation carry over the user's template library. Convert each template to a PST entry; import the PST into the destination Outlook profile; users see their full template library in the new environment. No per-template re-creation.
OFT to PSTProfile migration
Mac User Receiving an OFT From a Windows Colleague
Outlook for Mac does not open .oft files. A Mac user receiving an OFT from a Windows colleague gets a file the OS cannot preview natively. Converting the OFT to PDF, EML or HTML on a Windows workstation produces an artifact the Mac user can open and act on.
Windows-to-Mac handoffOFT to PDF
OFT to HTML for Marketing Platform Migration
Teams migrating from Outlook-centric campaigns to platforms like Mailchimp, HubSpot or SendGrid need their templates in editable HTML. The wizard outputs each template as an HTML file with inline images extracted as separate assets and references rewritten. Drop the HTML into the new platform's editor.

Why Customers Choose This Tool
Eight Reasons This OFT Converter Beats Generic MSG Tools
Generic MSG converters often advertise OFT support but treat the file as a plain message, dropping template-specific properties (recipient placeholders, custom fields, body type hints). The eight capabilities below address what OFT actually needs, refined against 12,000+ tested OFT samples spanning Outlook 2007 through Microsoft 365.
CLSID-Based OFT Identification
The wizard inspects the WriteClassStg storage class and routes CLSID_TemplateMessage files through the OFT-specific path. Generic tools that read CFB without checking CLSID treat OFT and MSG as interchangeable, dropping template-only properties.
Template-Only Property Retention
OFT files hold properties absent from regular MSG: PR_DISPLAY_TO recipient placeholders, custom Outlook fields with template-side values, body type hints (HTML/RTF/Plain). Each is retained through conversion or written to a sidecar metadata file.
Inline Image and Attachment Extraction
Marketing templates are dense with inline images (logos, hero banners, product shots). Extraction outputs each image as a separate file with original filename and MIME type, then rewrites the OFT body HTML to reference the extracted asset paths.
Sixteen Output Destinations
A single OFT load targets any of sixteen outputs. Email file formats: MSG, EML, PST, MBOX, OFT round-trip. Document formats: PDF, PDF/A, HTML, CSV, TXT, RTF. Live cloud and IMAP: Microsoft 365, Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud, generic IMAP.
Naming Convention Control
Output filename patterns derive from template properties. Pick from subject line, creation date, sequential numbering, custom field value or any combination. Useful for converting a folder of unnamed OFT files into a sorted PDF library that downstream readers can navigate.
Three-Layer OFT Inspection Pane
The reader renders three layers per loaded template: rendered output (Classic-Outlook-equivalent), property view (every CFB property stream including PR_SUBJECT, PR_BODY_HTML, PR_DISPLAY_TO), raw bytes (CFB sector layout for diagnostic purposes).
No Outlook or Office Subsystem Needed
Excluded from the dependency graph: Microsoft Office, Outlook (Classic or New), MAPI subsystem, Visual Studio Tools for Office, registered template handlers, OUTLOOK.EXE binary. The single-file installer registers nothing globally except the .oft file association, which is optional.
Wide Outlook Source Coverage
Source coverage spans Outlook 2007 through Microsoft 365 OFT files. CFB structure is stable across versions; per-generation property additions (rich body MIME hints, custom field schemas, theme references) all parse without explicit version selection at the UI.

How PCDOTS OFT Converter Compares to Generic MSG Tools
OFT conversion tools split into three groups: OFT-specialist commercial wizards (PCDOTS, eSoftTools, BitRecover, Aryson) that check the CLSID and route OFT through template-aware handlers, generic MSG converters that ignore the storage class distinction and silently drop template-only properties, and manual print-to-PDF through Classic Outlook requiring a working install plus per-file clicking. Key PCDOTS differentiators: CLSID validation at parse time, recipient placeholder retention, custom field sidecar generation.

How It Works
Eleven-Step Conversion Walkthrough
Standard eleven-step procedure for converting OFT templates on Windows, deeper than the three-stage quick guide above. Each step references the corresponding wizard dialog and screenshot. Operator time per single-template job: under 2 minutes. Multi-template library jobs scale with template count.
Run the wizard from Start menu or desktop shortcut. The source selection dialog opens. No Outlook health check runs at startup; the wizard does not depend on Outlook being installed, registered, or in a working state.
Browse to the OFT File or Folder
Click Browse. Pick a single .oft file or a folder of OFT templates. The wizard inspects each file by Compound File Binary signature and checks the WriteClassStg storage class, confirming CLSID_TemplateMessage before adding the file to the load list.
Inspect the Loaded OFT Library
The navigation pane lists every loaded template. Each row shows: subject line (parsed from PR_SUBJECT), source filename, file size, and a status icon indicating whether the OFT contains custom fields, embedded attachments, or recipient placeholders.
Verify Template Content in Three Layers
Click any template to open the verification pane. Rendered output shows what Classic Outlook would have shown when the user clicked New Email From Template. Property view exposes every CFB property stream. Raw bytes exposes CFB sector layout for diagnostic purposes.
Apply Scope Filters Across the Library
For batch jobs targeting a subset, apply filters: subject keyword match, creation date range, has-attachments toggle, has-custom-fields toggle, filename pattern. The filtered set forms the conversion job; templates outside the filter are skipped.
Configure Component Extraction (Optional)
Toggle component extraction alongside the main conversion: email addresses from recipient placeholders to deduplicated CSV, inline images as separate image files with reference rewrites, embedded attachments with original filenames, custom field values to a sidecar JSON metadata file.
Select the Output Destination
Three categories. Email file formats: MSG, EML, PST (single PST per batch), MBOX, OFT round-trip. Document formats: PDF, PDF/A (ISO 19005-1 archival), HTML, CSV, TXT, RTF. Live cloud and IMAP: Microsoft 365, Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud, generic RFC 3501.
Configure Naming and Property Handling
Output naming patterns: subject-based, date-based, sequential numbering, custom-field-driven. Property handling toggles: include OFT-specific properties as PDF metadata sidebar, embed attachments as PDF file attachments versus separate folder, keep or strip Outlook X-headers.
Execute the Conversion Job
Click Save. The wizard processes templates sequentially. Per-template progress shows: source filename, parse status (CFB validation, CLSID check, property stream parse), output write status. The job log records exact per-template success or failure with reason codes for downstream review.
Confirm the Conversion Result
When the wizard reports Job Complete, the destination folder contains the converted output. The trial edition caps the writer at 25 templates per folder; the licensed wizard processes any size library without limits. Click Open Folder to inspect output, or open the cloud account for live-send destinations.
Validate the Output in the Native Reader
Open the destination format in its native reader: PDF in Adobe Reader, HTML in any browser, MSG in Outlook, EML in Thunderbird or Apple Mail. Spot-check that recipient placeholders, custom fields and inline images carried through. Compare folder count against the wizard's job log.

FAQs
OFT File Reference Questions
Twelve reference questions covering OFT format internals (CLSID, CFB structure), platform compatibility (New Outlook, Mac), conversion workflows (PDF, PST, HTML), and operational details (storage paths, edit-in-place options). Sourced from real user search queries and forum threads.
Why does New Outlook for Windows not save .oft files anymore?
New Outlook for Windows is built on a cloud-first, mailbox-centric architecture that intentionally minimizes local file dependencies. Microsoft chose to deprecate file-based template assets (including .oft) in favor of My Templates, an account-attached add-in that stores reusable text snippets in the user's Exchange mailbox. The decision is documented as design-deliberate, not a temporary oversight. Practical consequences: New Outlook can open an existing .oft as a one-time draft when double-clicked, but offers no Save As path, no ribbon command, and no menu option to produce an OFT file. Editing an existing template requires Classic Outlook on the same machine. PCDOTS OFT Converter closes the gap by converting the .oft to MSG or EML on the Windows side; the resulting file imports into Outlook on the web My Templates or any modern email client.
What is the difference between an OFT file and an MSG file?
Both are Compound File Binary documents holding Outlook properties. The single distinguishing byte sequence is the WriteClassStg storage class: OFT uses CLSID_TemplateMessage ({0006F046-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}); MSG uses CLSID_MailMessage. Outlook keys off this CLSID to decide whether to open the file as a draft (MSG) or as a new message based on a template (OFT).
How do I convert OFT to PDF in bulk?
Point the wizard at a folder of templates, pick PDF as the destination, click Convert. Each file processes through the OFT-aware parser (retaining recipient placeholders as visible text), renders the body to a PDF page, embeds inline images, attaches embedded attachments to the PDF as file attachments. Output filenames derive from a configurable pattern (subject line, date, sequential). PDF/A is also available for ISO 19005-1 long-term archival.
Can I import a folder of OFT files into Outlook as a single PST?
Yes. Select PST as the destination. The wizard creates one PST file containing every converted template as a separate item under a configurable folder name (default: "Templates"). Import the resulting PST into Outlook through File > Open & Export > Open Outlook Data File. Each template appears as an Outlook item that can be opened, edited, and saved back as an .oft if the destination Outlook is Classic. The PST output retains the OFT-specific properties (recipient placeholders, custom fields) so the imported items behave as templates rather than as drafts.
How do I convert an OFT template into editable HTML for Mailchimp or HubSpot?
Pick HTML as the destination format. The wizard outputs an .html file with the body content, then extracts inline images to a sibling subfolder and rewrites image references to relative paths. The result is a self-contained HTML asset that drops directly into Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid or any platform that accepts HTML import. Custom Outlook fields (which have no HTML equivalent) write to a sidecar JSON file for reference. Note that Outlook-specific CSS and conditional comments do not always render identically in modern email platforms; spot-check the result in the platform's preview tool.
Why does Outlook for Mac not recognize my .oft file?
Outlook for Mac uses a separate template format called .emltpl and does not read Windows .oft files. The two formats share the conceptual purpose (reusable email templates) but use entirely different file structures: OFT is Compound File Binary; .emltpl is plist-based. There is no first-party Microsoft conversion path. PCDOTS OFT Converter on a Windows workstation produces MSG, EML, PDF, or HTML output that the Mac user can open in their preferred tool.
How do I open an OFT file without Outlook installed?
PCDOTS OFT Converter Software is a standalone Windows .NET binary that reads OFT files directly via the Compound File Binary format. No Classic Outlook install, no New Outlook install, no Office runtime, no MAPI subsystem. Browse to the OFT folder, select files, and the wizard renders each template in a verification pane (rendered output, property view, raw bytes). Output to MSG, EML, PST, PDF, HTML or any of 16 destinations. Useful when receiving OFT attachments on a workstation that never had Outlook installed, or when the local Outlook install is broken.
Where does Outlook save .oft files on Windows by default?
Outlook does not auto-save OFT files. The user picks the location during File > Save As. The conventional default location is %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates (resolves to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates) because that path is preselected in the Save As dialog. Many users save elsewhere: OneDrive folders for sharing, Documents, network shares, or a project-specific folder. The wizard reads OFT from any path the Windows user can browse to.
Can I edit an OFT file in Notepad or a text editor?
No, not productively. OFT is Compound File Binary, a structured container with property streams, sector tables, and binary metadata. Notepad opens it but displays a wall of unreadable bytes interleaved with fragments of HTML body and headers. Edits made in a text editor corrupt the CFB sector layout and the file becomes unreadable to Outlook. The right approach is converting the OFT to HTML or RTF, editing the resulting human-readable file, and either re-importing it via Outlook or sending the converted HTML directly through whatever email tool the workflow uses.
If I rename .oft to .msg, will MSG viewers open it correctly?
Partially, and with silent corruption of template-specific data. Renaming the file extension changes nothing about the underlying CFB content; the WriteClassStg storage class is still CLSID_TemplateMessage. Most generic MSG viewers do not check the CLSID and treat the file as a regular message. The body and basic headers usually display correctly, which makes the workaround appear to work. The losses surface only on closer inspection: recipient placeholders display as literal placeholder strings rather than as templated fields, custom Outlook field values may render as the wrong type, body type hints can be ignored causing HTML body to render as plain text or vice versa. The PCDOTS reader checks the CLSID before parsing and routes OFT files through the template-aware path, retaining all template-only properties.
How do I send an email using an OFT template through the wizard?
Select "Send to Live Inbox" as the destination instead of a file format. Authenticate to the target account (Microsoft 365, Workspace, Yahoo, iCloud, generic IMAP) via OAuth or app-specific password. The wizard composes a message from the OFT body, attaches any embedded attachments, fills recipient placeholders from a CSV mapping if supplied, and posts the message either as a draft for review or as a sent message. Useful when New Outlook users need to send a Classic-Outlook-era OFT template without converting it to a My Templates entry first.
What does the trial edition convert and how is it different from the licensed copy?
Trial caps writer output at 25 templates per folder. Loading any number of OFT files, browsing the verification pane, applying scope filters, and configuring outputs run unrestricted. The cap exists so operators can verify their actual OFT samples (Outlook 2007 versus Microsoft 365, with custom fields, with embedded attachments) parse correctly before licensing. Licensed edition is $49 one-time, perpetual, single-workstation, includes lifetime updates and OFT-aware engineer support.

"Converted 200 marketing OFT templates to HTML in one click."
Our marketing team had years of OFT campaign templates accumulated under a shared SharePoint folder. The agency we hired to redesign the brand needed all of them as HTML to import into the new email platform. Manual export through Outlook would have taken our intern a full week. PCDOTS OFT Converter processed the entire 200-template library in about 12 minutes, with inline images extracted to a sibling folder and references rewritten. The agency took the output as-is.

New Outlook compatibility, finally
Our org rolled out New Outlook for Windows last quarter. Half my team's legacy OFT templates went unusable overnight: New Outlook opens them as one-time drafts but cannot save edits back. PCDOTS converted every OFT to MSG, which Outlook on the web My Templates accepts. Saved a full migration headache.

Recipient placeholders survived the trip
Generic MSG converters we tested first treated our OFT files like regular messages: body and headers came through, but recipient placeholder fields rendered as literal strings, and our custom Outlook fields disappeared entirely. PCDOTS detected the OFT signature and routed the files through a template-aware path. Custom fields ended up in a sidecar JSON. Worked exactly as we needed.
